About Durham ELP
Our Vision Statement
"Some of our young people will aspire to be entrepreneurs - all of them will need to be enterprising."
The Durham ELP will endeavour to create an ethos in our schools and colleges to make this a reality. We will achieve this by:
- Embedding an enterprise culture in all schools and colleges
- Ensuring all staff are aware of the enterprise agenda and how they as individual teachers can contribute to it
- Ensuring that each organisation has trained staff with the expertise to implement their organisation's enterprise vision
- Providing young people with an enterprise journey with planned progression
- Having systems in place to support aspiring young entrepreneurs to make their dreams become reality
- Promoting in all schools and colleges the establishment of small businesses and social enterprises which offer the opportunity for young people to get hands-on experience of running an actual business project
- Promoting appropriate and relevant accreditation opportunities
- Encouraging schools and colleges to work with relevant partner organisations
